A Plus Insurance Agency

Privacy Policy

1. Who we are and what this policy covers

A Plus Auto Insurance LLC, doing business as A Plus Insurance Agency (“we,” “us,” or “our”), respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and retain personal information through www.a-plusinsurance.net and related inquiries and insurance services. It also explains how to contact us about your information.

Insurance carriers, managing general agents, and other independent companies may provide their own privacy notices. Their notices govern their handling of information. This website policy supplements any insurance privacy notices we provide; it does not replace notices or authorizations required by law.

This policy covers our agency’s website and related services for customers and prospective customers in Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, and Arkansas. Applicable federal and state insurance privacy requirements govern our handling of nonpublic personal information. Where a law requires additional protections, notices, or choices, we follow those requirements.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide. When you request a quote, contact us, or request service, we collect the information you submit, such as your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, state, and the type of insurance you are seeking. Commercial quote requests may include company and owner information, business activities, annual sales, employee counts, payroll, subcontractor information, and location size.

Insurance application and service information. Depending on the coverage and service requested, we may obtain dates of birth, driver and vehicle information, property details, prior coverage, claims history, policy information, financial information, and other underwriting details. Sensitive information, including government identifiers or health information, is requested only when needed for the insurance service and permitted by law. Do not send Social Security numbers, payment card details, passwords, or medical records through a general website form or ordinary email. Contact us for an appropriate submission method.

Information from others. Where permitted by law and subject to required notices or authorization, we may obtain information from insurers, intermediaries, your authorized representatives, public records, and insurance-related reporting services. Consumer reports, insurance scores, driving records, or claims reports may be used in the quoting or underwriting process where legally permitted.

Technical information. Our website and hosting providers may collect IP addresses, browser and device information, pages visited, referring pages, and the time of access through server logs or essential website technologies. See the cookies section below.

3. How we use information

We use information to respond to inquiries; evaluate insurance needs; obtain and compare quotes; submit applications; help service policies, renewals, and claims; communicate about requested services; maintain business records; operate and secure our website and systems; prevent fraud; and comply with legal and regulatory obligations. We may contact you about insurance products related to your inquiry or customer relationship, subject to applicable consent and marketing rules and your communication preferences.

Submitting a quote request does not bind coverage or authorize every possible use of your information. Any required consent, consumer-report authorization, or health-information authorization is handled separately.

4. How we disclose information

We disclose information as needed for the following purposes and only as permitted by law:

  • Insurance services: to insurers, managing general agents, wholesalers, brokers, underwriters, and other insurance participants to obtain quotes, place coverage, service policies, or assist with claims.
  • Agency operations: to service providers supporting website hosting, form delivery, email, agency management, document storage, IT security, and other business functions. Access is limited to the services they provide and subject to applicable confidentiality and data protection requirements.
  • Authorized parties: to people or organizations you authorize, such as another agent, lender, or representative, within the scope of that authorization or another lawful basis.
  • Legal and protection purposes: to regulators, law enforcement, courts, professional advisers, or other parties when required or permitted by law, including to prevent fraud or protect legal rights.
  • Business transactions: in connection with a proposed or completed sale, merger, or transfer of the agency or its book of business, subject to applicable law and appropriate confidentiality protections.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Disclosures to insurance markets to obtain quotes or provide insurance services are made for those service purposes and subject to applicable law. We do not provide customer contact lists to unrelated companies for their own marketing.

Certain disclosures of nonpublic personal information may require an additional privacy notice, an opportunity to opt out, or your authorization. Where required, we provide those notices and choices before making the disclosure. Other disclosures, including certain disclosures necessary to provide insurance services, may be permitted without an opt-out right.

The information disclosed may include the contact, application, underwriting, policy, transaction, and claims information described in section 2, limited to what is appropriate for the particular lawful purpose. We apply the same privacy practices to current and former customers. We do not disclose nonpublic personal information about customers or former customers to anyone except as permitted by law. We do not share this information with affiliated businesses for their own marketing or share creditworthiness information with affiliates. An affiliate is a business under common ownership or control; a nonaffiliated third party is a business outside that relationship.

Health information receives additional protection. Where required by applicable law, we obtain a separate written or electronic authorization before disclosing nonpublic personal health information unless an applicable insurance-function or other legal exception permits the disclosure. Any authorization explains its scope, duration, and how to revoke it. Contact us to revoke an authorization; revocation does not undo actions already taken in lawful reliance on it. General acceptance of this website policy is not a health-information authorization.

5. Cookies and website technologies

Our website may use essential cookies or similar technologies to operate forms, maintain functionality, and protect against misuse. This policy is for a website without advertising pixels, cross-site advertising trackers, or optional analytics cookies. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; blocking some technologies may affect website functionality.

A browser’s “Do Not Track” signal does not automatically unsubscribe you from agency communications. Contact us using the methods below to request a change to your communication preferences. We honor legally required opt-out preference signals when applicable to our processing.

6. Your choices and privacy requests

You may ask us to review or correct your contact or insurance information, change communication preferences, or explain how your information is used. Depending on your residence, the information involved, and the law that applies, you may also have rights to access, obtain a copy of, correct, or delete certain information, or to opt out of certain disclosures or processing. These rights are subject to legal exceptions, including insurance recordkeeping and other retention obligations.

Send a request to rayhart@a-plusinsurance.net with the subject “Privacy Request,” or call (601) 798-8032. Tell us your name, preferred contact method, and the nature of your request. Do not include sensitive identifiers in your initial email. We may reasonably verify identity or representative authority before disclosing or changing records. Verification information is used for that purpose. We respond within the time required by applicable law, explain applicable limitations, and do not unlawfully discriminate for exercising a privacy right. If you wish to appeal a decision, contact us at the same address and identify your request as a privacy appeal; we will follow applicable appeal requirements.

California residents: Rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, apply only where our business and the information at issue are covered. Certain information handled under financial and insurance privacy laws may be exempt from some CCPA requirements. This does not mean all information held by an insurance agency is automatically exempt. Contact us to inquire about applicable rights.

Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, and Arkansas residents: Insurance privacy laws provide notice and, for certain disclosures, opt-out or authorization protections. These choices do not generally prevent disclosures legally permitted to obtain or service insurance, process transactions or claims, prevent fraud, or comply with law. If we propose a disclosure that requires an opt-out opportunity, we will explain the information and recipients involved and provide a reasonable method and opportunity to opt out before disclosure. You may also contact us by email or phone to exercise an applicable privacy choice. We honor valid opt-out directions for as long as required by applicable law, including after a customer relationship ends where required. We do not unfairly discriminate because you exercise an applicable insurance privacy choice. No provision of this policy waives rights available under applicable law.

You can opt out of promotional emails by using an unsubscribe mechanism in the email or contacting us. Necessary policy, billing, renewal, claims, and other service communications may continue as permitted by law. Providing a phone number in a quote form does not, by itself, constitute consent to automated marketing calls or marketing texts.

7. Retention and protection

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing services, maintaining required insurance and business records, complying with law, resolving disputes, and defending legal claims. Retention depends on the record type, customer relationship, legal requirements, and any litigation or regulatory hold. After applicable retention needs end, information is securely disposed of or deidentified as appropriate.

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information and restrict access to authorized personnel and service providers with a business need. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. If a reportable security incident occurs, we provide notifications required by applicable law.

8. Children and third-party websites

Our website is intended for adults seeking insurance services. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13 through the website. An adult may provide information about dependents or household members when needed for an insurance application. If you believe a child has submitted personal information directly through our website, contact us so we can address it.

Links to third-party websites or carrier portals lead to services operated by others. Review their privacy notices before providing information. We do not control their privacy practices.

9. Updates and contact information

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our services, practices, or legal requirements. The effective date above identifies the current version. We provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by law.
